WELCOME TO THE BLOG

las vegas 2012

One of these days, I’m going to go on vacation and not take a single picture. Not with the camera, not with the iPhone, not in a photo booth. NOTHING. It’s a goal of mine, to someday see if I can do that.

Obviously, as you well know by now, this was not that trip. When a group of six people contains four photographers and five Instagram addicts, well… there will be photographic proof of most of what happens. I say “most” because, well, it was Vegas after all. 😉

We stayed at the MGM Signature, and I really loved the property. The rooms were BIG and nice and super quiet, and we had a quick air conditioned walk into the MGM Casino. I’d definitely stay here again… especially for the price!

Mack’s favorite thing about Las Vegas is the fountains at Bellagio. He would have gladly sat here all night!

Have you ever walked through a resort or theme park and seen those terribly photoshopped compilation pictures that cost WAY too much, and though to yourself, “Who in the world buys those things??”

The answer is : US. We do. We are those people.

Eric took the cake for the best man candy photo… hopefully he doesn’t kill me for sharing it with the internet. 😉

Hunka-hunka burnin’ MACK!!!!

On Tuesday morning at 3 a.m., we drove out to Nelson’s Landing for the photo shoot we had planned. When our headlights illuminated the crashed plane in the middle of the desert, I knew we were in for a good time.

As you can see in this next picture, it rained for a little while first thing in the morning. So I drew the short straw and got to climb up on the slick plane, wait for it to start raining, and dry it off so Abby wouldn’t fall and break her neck on it in toe shoes.

We could seriously shoot four more sessions on this property and never capture the same background. I’m dying to go back when I’m not exhausted from having stayed up all night. I’m thinking a Bride & Groom session out here would be kind of stupid amazing…

Mack is so awesome, always working to catch “behind the scenes” type shots. Here’s two of Kevin & I workin’ it during the shoot in the desert (which you get to see tomorrow!!)

While I was laying on my stomach in the middle of the road, trying to set the camera up for a group picture, THIS HAPPENED.

And finally, I’ll close with the pictures we took late one night out at the Vegas sign. We thought we’d be ok when we saw a guy with a pretty good DSLR waiting in line… I figured he’d at least know how to focus it. I was wrong. :/

So we took our own small group photos while we waited for more help to arrive…

Ah, that’s better.

My friends, that was a pretty fantastic trip. I can’t wait to explore more of the world with you wonderful people… and hey, probably Vegas again too, right? 😉

Blogstalkers, first thing in the morning we’ll finally unveil what we shot out at that amazing desert location. You don’t want to miss it, I promise!
