Pam & Mike : Aruba Wedding

Pam will tell you without hesitation that she & Mike planned their wedding in Aruba for 930-something days. Between having a baby, graduating from nursing school, and LIFE, they had plenty on their plates… but this wedding was never far from their minds. Pam is, hands down, the most prepared bride we’ve ever had. She knew exactly what she wanted, and made sure to hire professionals in Aruba who could help execute her vision of an intimate elopement on Eagle Beach.

The fact that this couple, these uber prepared people with all the options in the world, chose US to accompany them on this adventure… well, that honor is not something we take lightly. Pam & Mike trusted us to photograph a wedding that no one else would see, so that they could share the memories with their loved ones. And we made sure we did whatever we could to capture their celebration in a way that accurately conveyed how perfectly beautiful it was!

We started the wedding day at our resort, Bucuti & Tara in Oranjestad. This was SUCH a stunning property, and we felt pretty spoiled rotten to get to stay there. 🙂 The first thing we saw on the wedding day was the Bucuti staff setting up the wedding arbor… our excitement went through the roof, because GOSH, just look at it!

While his bride was getting beautified, Mike spent the morning of his wedding in this super relaxed fashion…

Pam’s hair & makeup artist was a local who had incredible reviews online, and it was easy to see why! She did a fantastic job.

Pam & Mike are the second couple we’ve had in just a few weeks who’ve helped each other get ready on the wedding day. It’s not right for everyone or every wedding, but I’ve gotta say, I kind of adore it.

Once the bride & groom were ready, we were chauffeured downtown to the Civil House! Rather than being married legally at home and just doing a commitment ceremony on the beach, Pam was insistent that their actual LEGAL anniversary be 10-11-12… and that meant having two ceremonies! Luckily, the officials at the Civil House were lovely to work with, and the building itself is a beautiful place to get married!

A big kiss seals the deal!

We had a little time to kill before heading back to the resort, so we wandered around the downtown area to capture some portraits of the newly minted Mr. & Mrs. Rodriguez!

Ok, this next one is really corny… but come on! We couldn’t pass that big sign up! 🙂

After a little freshening up in our rooms, it was time to head to the beach for ceremony #2… the one that Pam & Mike had been dreaming of for nearly 3 years. It was catch-your-breath and wonder-if-it’s-real gorgeous.

Man & Wife… again! 🙂

Congratulations, Pam & Mike. We hope your wedding day was everything you dreamed it would be, and we will never stop being grateful that you chose us to go on this adventure with you.

Blogstalkers, come back tomorrow… we’re ending the week with a few favorite images from Pam & Mike’s bride & groom session, and you don’t want to miss them!

  1. Pam says:

Wow. Wow. Wow… Language fails to convey the awesomeness of these! Not only did you capture the beauty of that day, but (for us) the emotions that were there as well. I LOVE the fact that I can look back at these pictures years from now and still be able to what we felt that day. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you x a million! 🙂

  2. Pam says:

And it was 939 days or 2 years 6 months and 22 days… But whose counting. 🙂

  3. Misty says:

BEAUTIFUL, just beautiful, every single shot! The couple looks so very happy, which is beautiful in itself, but with that setting, and as seen through the McG lens, it’s all so…BEAUTIFUL! 🙂

Good luck picking out photos for THAT album! Geez, there’s so much pretty here, it’s overwhelming. Tremendously proud of y’all for this opportunity!

  6. Tara says:

So beautiful! How sweet and intimate, but I have a feeling if any family or friends were there, they’d still be completely wrapped up in each other. Their love story is told through the way they look at each other. I’m so in love with this!

  7. Kevin says:

Love that they helped each other get ready! As strange as it may sound, I think the downtown pictures are my fav!
