Utah – Destination Family Session

At the beginning of this month, we took a road trip to Moab, UT to meet the Underwood family. Logan, Nicole, and Oliver were flying from Ohio to Salt Lake City, and driving down to meet us. And when we connected as planned at Coronado Arch right around sunset, we all got to be a part of something really really special.

Mack is just SO good at these. Combining his astrophotography work with after dark portraits, oftentimes shooting in the dead middle of the night or even later, and SO much research, all adds up to a seriously intense project. But when we have clients who are willing to invest in what it takes to make a one-of-a-kind session like this happen, he’s really set free to make some incredible final images.

Astrophotography portraits don’t yield as many finished images as a typical session, for reasons that are probably pretty clear. We picked out our absolute favorites to show here, but there are others, and variations on these. You’ll also get a sneak peek at the regular family session we did for this fantastic family, at Dead Horse Point State Park (terrible name, beautiful place).

We hope you enjoy these as much as we enjoyed creating them. And if you’re interested in an adventure / astrophotography family or couples portrait session, email mack@mcgowanimages.com to get all the options & details!

Thank you again, so so much for being so ready to rock, and patient, and as excited about all this as we were. We’re looking forward to seeing how these images fill out some wall space in your home!
