It’s been on our wish list for a while to photograph a proposal, and we can’t think of a better couple for this McG First than Madlyn & Willum. It was really an honor that we were invited to this precious couple’s housewarming party just as friends… no camera expectations at all. But then when we heard what Willum was planning, of COURSE we were willing to shoot it. We worked with Willum on the perfect plan to surprise the love of his life, and it was really fun to feel like super spies with all our diagrams and such. 🙂
After a tour of the house and some visiting, we nonchalantly offered to take the couple outside for some “YAY! We’re homeowners!” portraits in their really cute backyard. Stage = set.
My big contribution to this sneaky affair was to “naturally” set up a way for Willum to get down on one knee. I pulled him ahead for some “solo” portraits first, then hollered, “SWITCH!”
Madlyn had no idea that her handsome boyfriend was all ready to go when I told her she could turn around and go back for another “huggy” picture…
Tear!
She said, “Have you SEEN THIS RING??” Yep, Madlyn. We saw it. Beyond gorg.
Friends & family streamed out the back door with poppers and streamers!

Ladies, you know that pin on pinterest that says, have someone tell your boyfriend to have professional photographers at your proposal?? Good gosh, they are so right. These are incredible you two! I know I’m going to be completely in love with every picture y’all take of this time in our lives. I’m beyond giddy this morning reliving these 🙂 Love you both!!
