This morning, we’re headed to Farmer’s Branch, TX to shoot Kimberly & Marty’s wedding!
But if you’re bored this frigid Saturday… or worse, stuck at work… we’ll transport you back a few days to share some pictures from the little cocktail party we had last week in honor of our new website and blog!
The idea for this was really simple. I wanted to get together the people that mean a lot to us, and have them celebrate with us as McGowan Images entered a new age. Because we’re so busy with weddings right now, we scheduled everything for a Tuesday night, and I knew that would mean some of the invitees couldn’t make it. I’ll admit that I was a little bummed that more people didn’t make it, but you know… that’s how life goes. And when it was all said and done, and we were sitting around chatting… I knew it was the perfect number of people in the perfect space on a perfect night. Everyone that was there REALLY wanted to be there, and it meant the world to us.
The party was held in The Loft, above Hank’s on the Square in Granbury. Hank’s itself is kind of a hole in the wall bar/restaurant that I LOVE, but the Loft upstairs is a pretty swanky little place. They’ve just started doing private events, and I would absolutely recommend this space to anyone searching out a venue for an event with 50 people or less. The price is perfect, the food is delish, and Jess, the owner is FABULOUS. I mean, wow. She was totally hands-on when we were setting up, and her day-of assistance was wonderful. I’ve already told Mack that I want to come up with other excuses to have parties and host there. 🙂
Our friend Meagan Bechtel is my go-to-girl for decorating, and she really rocked out the centerpieces for this little get-together. She explained to me how she made the lime-slice and rock salt creations, but even after hearing it, I can’t believe she pulled it off. They’re absolutely incredible!
I also set up a table to show off our new packaging, which I’ll be sharing on the blog in greater detail soon. 🙂
For dessert, we set up a cupcake table. Easy peezy… you know us. My friend Shannon Buchanan of Wild Thyme Designs is such an incredible baking artist… she really blows my mind. We had margarita and key lime flavored cupcakes, and they were ALL delicious!
Before all the peoples arrived, Mack took some pictures of the whole room for me…
Since we got all dolled up and everything, we figured we should have some pictures, too!
We took pictures of most everyone who came to the party, but since we don’t have pictures of really everyone, I’d feel bad posting them and leaving anyone out. So, guys, if you were there, I’ll put them on FB. 🙂
I can’t neglect another shout-out to Meagan & Eric, though. While Meagan did all the leg-work and set-up with the decor, Eric was her pack-mule, and our “get it” guy during the whole evening. They are the absolute definition of clients-turned-friends. We heart you guys!
I’ll close with a family picture that makes my heart so very happy. Everyone was being silly behind our friend Amanda, trying to get Dottie to smile… to no avail. Jack has no attention for the camera… only for his sister. The happiness abounds. What a great week it’s been!
To those of you that came to our little party, thank you so much for your endless support, encouragement, friendship and love. To those of you who were on the new site within seconds of it’s launch… THANK YOU. You are the reason we keep doing what we’re doing. I tried to respond to every FB congrats, but in case I missed you, know that every one of those messages was read out loud. We are so grateful to have fans and friends that are loyal to this extent.
See you on Monday!
