Taylor & Kirby : Wedding Pt. 1

I can’t believe I’m blogging the last wedding of 2012. That feels really strange. What feels even stranger is that we don’t have another wedding for 11 weeks. NEVER, since our first full wedding season in the Spring of 2009, have we had such a long stretch of free weekends. It’s a decision we made almost a year ago… purposeful time off… but still, it’s a little scary. Here’s to hoping we don’t get bored!

One thing is for sure… I can promise YOU won’t be bored the next two days here on the blog. Holy cow, there’s so much pretty to share from Taylor & Kirby’s wedding! This event was held at our new absolute favorite rustic ranch wedding venue, The N at Hard Way in Bluff Dale, TX. But what’s most impressive about this event, I think, is that it was pretty much put together in 6 weeks.

See, Taylor & Kirby were going to have a short engagement anyway. When they called me in August wanting to get married in November, I already knew we were under the gun. But then when the wedding got pushed back pretty close to last minute and we had to find a new venue & start from scratch on the design… well, that’s where the utterly fantastic Meagan Bechtel earned her strips. megBdesign  worked closely with vendors like the Wedding Connection in Granbury, Woodshed Works floral, and of course our gorgeous venue to create something beyond Taylor & Kirby’s most wonderful dreams for their wedding. I was absolutely amazed at what she created… and that’s a big deal, since I’m used to Meagan creating fabulousity out of nowhere. 🙂

But really, even if the entire event was world-class gorgeous, it wouldn’t have mattered without the love. It sounds trite, but it’s so true. Taylor & Kirby are so head-over-feet crazy about each other that it affects everything they do and say. Their families… both sides… are sweet and excited and supportive. They have a legacy of life-changing, earth-shaking, world-overcoming love to light their path. And we really and truly couldn’t have picked a better event to close out this year.

Special thanks to our dear friends at Berg Photography for being our extra eyes and hands at this wedding. We always feel super-human when we have Kevin & Nicole assisting us! 🙂

I looooooove the chalk signs that popped up all over this event. Seriously one of my favorite touches of the day!

The groom & his entourage rode down to the ceremony site in style….

Taylor & Kirby were married by the bride’s grandfather, and at the start of the ceremony, he asked for a blessing and words of wisdom from each set of parents. I love this personal touch… that familial support is so important!

Mr. & Mrs. Stubbs!

This wedding party was so fun… nothing but smiles all day long!

It was really important to the bride & groom to have plenty of time just for the two of them. So while I won’t lie about being pretty bummed at the mild winter we’re having, I was thrilled that it was so warm and lovely outside last Saturday!

Kisses!!

Just you wait, blogstalkers. Tomorrow is when we’ll show off the stunning design inside Taylor & Kirby’s reception, and share our favorite moments from their dance party. This is one you’d regret missing, I pinky-promise!
