Last week, we photographed Katy & Kyle’s maternity session around the McG studio at 3825 S. Bowen, and enjoyed perhaps the most gorgeous weather of the year so far. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, and a few flowers had even begun to bloom on the trees. It sounds sappy to say, but it seemed like the whole of nature was as excited as we are to celebrate baby Nora’s impending arrival.

Katy and I were dear friends in high school, and while lots has changed in our lives over the past 10 years (OY!), the miracle of Facebook keeps us pretty well connected. Astute blog stalkers may recognize this stylish couple from the iPhone Experiment we did a few years ago (and if you don’t, you should definitely click this link ). This time in front of the “big cameras”, Katy & Kyle were just as fun to shoot. After 7 years of marriage, their love is real and palpable, and they’re bringing their sweet baby girl into such a wonderful home. I love that we were able to approach this maternity session in what I consider to be an ideal fashion… portraits of two people in love, entering into a new phase in their life, and one of those people happens to be pregnant. 🙂

Sweet baby Nora, you’re so blessed already. Your parents are crazy in love with each other, and they’re crazy in love with you, and you have a huge wonderful family full of cousins to play with and learn from. Spend the next 6 weeks growing very strong & healthy. We can’t wait to meet you!
