Jennifer & Ronnie : Wedding

Jennifer & Ronnie first contacted us way back in February of 2012 when they started planning their wedding! After a few date changes and a lot planning, they finally tied the knot this past Friday evening in a small & sweet backyard ceremony in Azle.

Now, for those of you who maybe don’t remember last Friday, I’ll refresh your memory… it was raining. A LOT. But Jennifer & Ronnie didn’t let that stop them from being thrilled just to be with one another, and their friends & family shook off those rain drops and celebrated through the inclement weather. It’s really a testament to Jen’s vision and her design team that things still came together so beautifully!

We started off with the girls at the Ashton Hotel, one of my favorite “getting ready” venues in Fort Worth. The light in these top floor suites is just delicious.

You’ll see it more later in the post with the reception floral, but OMG these tan-colored roses were incredible. Such a great variety of flowers, but those roses in particular (Savannah roses, I think? Sahara? Something like that) just MADE the design.

The Bride & Groom saw each other for the first time in the lobby of the Ashton, while rain splish-splashed against the windows around them.

A Girls on Film album is the best wedding present EVER, amiright??

And then it was off to the ceremony location, where even last-minute tenting couldn’t dampen the beauty of the florals & great details Jennifer had planned for their day.

It was dark enough that the groom had to bust out the trusty iPhone flashlight to be able to read his vows! This was definitely one of those situations where we were saved by our knowledge of how to handle tricky lighting situations. A “natural light only” photographer would have found themselves seriously floundering for this ceremony, but we were able to make sure Jen & Ronnie will be able to cherish these memories despite the natural darkness of the surroundings. Whew!

After dinner, the rain dried up, and our bride & groom were able to enjoy their first dance under the stars (and some twinkly lights, of course!)

Congratulations, Jen & Ronnie! We hope you’ve had a relaxing time in the Dominican Republic this week, and that you were able to check out some of the spots we recommended. 🙂 May this rainy day bring you all the good luck you need for a wonderful life together!
