Dealing with illness on a wedding day is obviously one of our worst-case scenarios, but with 30 events a year, it’s just impossible to completely avoid. We’ve photographed weddings with broken bones, the flu, eye infections… you name it. And most of the time, our clients were none the wiser.

Leading up to Amy & Jeremia’s wedding last weekend, I was vocal on social media about the cold that was complicating my life, so Amy knew I wasn’t feeling great on her wedding day. I’ll tell you what, though… if I’ve ever got to be sick on a wedding day again (knock on wood), I hope it’s for another bride who’s as amazing as Amy. She was SO kind & easy-going, and kept checking in to see how I was feeling. We would have done a great job for her either way, because we’re not the kind of people who ever put in less than 100% hustle… but really, it was SO much easier to bust our buns for a bride so fantastically considerate.

Amy & Jeremia had planned their big day for a long time, and were so excited for their little family to finally be “official” on paper the way it was in everyone’s hearts. Even with some crazy storm action, the day was gorgeous from start-to-finish, and we were so glad to be able to capture these photographs for an awesome couple.

A few of the images you’ll see in this blog were shot by our assistant, Kayla. We’ve SO enjoyed working with her a couple times this month, and we’re looking forward to having her help at more weddings in the future!

I just love the faces that the youngest members of a wedding party will pull during picture time… kids are funny!

Amy had such a beautiful vision for her reception decor, and she worked really hard the morning of her wedding to make sure it was all set up in time for us to photograph. We definitely appreciated having the extra time in the gorgeous hall at Bella Vita Ranch!

Once the doors were open, you could hear thunder rolling through the sky, while Amy & Jeremia danced the night away with their guests!

Congratulations, you two! You were a joy to work with from start to finish, and we hope you’ve enjoyed your relaxing time at the beach. There’s no tired like wedding tired, right?
