I can’t believe this is the 4th year we’ve shared our kids’ Halloween pictures here on the blog. Time just flies SO quickly, and that seems especially true this time of year. If you’re a new blog reader and want to catch up on years past, you can do that with these links:
This year, our Dorothy Jane insisted on trick-or-treating as Dorothy Gale, from the Wizard of Oz. No over the top styling was necessary for these portraits… just a country lane ,a picnic basket, and some fabulous shoes!
Jack’s costume wasn’t purchased as a costume… not really. See, this 10-year-old stud wanted to be James Bond for Halloween, and we wanted to make sure his suit would make 007 proud. He had SO much fun brainstorming with his Dad about where & how to shoot his super-spy portraits, and they turned out so fun.
We decided we needed a little family costume portrait once our pumpkins were carved, and leave it to Mr. McGowan to get all crazy with the lighting. I kind of adore this photo though, and I need to figure out someplace to display it year round!!

This is just so perfect!!! How do you top every year?!? Dorothy is THE Dorothy!! PRECIOUS. I’m so glad you went with “simple” on the surroundings. It’s spot on. And Jack…I. Love. James. Bond. And Skyfall is one of my most favorites. This blew my mind. Jack & Mack – y’all are two amazing dudes. I love every single shot. The shadow shot is INCREDIBLE.
