Katie & James were married exactly a week ago today at Margaritaville Beach Hotel in beautiful Pensacola, Florida. Despite the be-parroted style of the hotel’s founder, this venue was so perfect for this lovely, intimate event. With the help of Kelly & Meaghan from Sweet Pea Events, the bride & groom planned a completely chill wedding, making sure that they could each really ENJOY every part of their day.

Katie & James both cried several times, which meant *I* (and maybe Mack, maybe) cried several times… and hey, so did just about everyone else in attendance. There’s just something so magical about seeing people truly in love celebrate FINDING each other, and promising to keep loving each other every day for the rest of their lives. It’s such a blessing to see the moments we photograph for a living.

In addition to being some of the very best wedding planners in Dallas, Kelly & Meaghan are just so dadgum sweet. Katie sadly lost her father not too long before the wedding, and he was missed all day. He was also fondly remembered, partly with this lovely charm of his initials that Kelly&Meagan got for the bride to wrap around her bouquet.

James rocked a KILLER suit on his wedding day… the man does “dapper” real well!

Mack drove around in the morning, trying to find someplace close, but secluded, that we could photograph James & Katie’s First Sight of each other on their wedding day. We found someplace PERFECT, and with a little strategic parking, we were able to help the lovely couple have a private (but thoroughly photographed) moment together.

Dedicated blog stalkers might recognize the Best Man and “CEO of Bridesmaids” in the photo below. They’re the clients who braved an ice storm for one of our December 2013 weddings! Lauren & Aaron are SO much fun, and we were glad for an excuse to get to party with them again. I mean, other than when we go out to dinner every so often… These were faves! 🙂

We tried to make sure we captured Lauren & Katie’s relationship throughout the day… friends since childhood, more like sisters. I think the photo below pretty perfectly wraps these beauties up in a bow!

The ceremony was held on the lawn next to the Margaritaville Beach Hotel, in the round, with the ocean in the background. Happy sigh.

Each couple walked toward each other to meet in the middle of the circle… including the 3-year-old twins who served as the flower girl and ring bearer!

It’s only fitting that James would start his vows by giving his love “The Eyebrow”.

They did it!!!

Of course, you’re not going to put McG on a beach and not make time for a sunset portrait or two! So glad we got down to the water in time for all that delicious color.

The reception was beautiful, and so much about it was a surprise to Katie. This girl is truly surrounded by people who adore her, and her sweet spirit makes her so worthy of that. It was wonderful to watch people just pour love all over this couple all day!

We were looking forward to this dance party, and we weren’t disappointed. If the only ones on the floor all night had been the wedding party, it still would have been one of the most energetic parties of the year!

We love you guys so much. You are so perfect together, and it was an absolute honor to photograph the celebration of you FINDING each other. And we’re super stoked that we can say, “See you soon!”
