So, this past Thursday, Mack and I scheduled two client meetings around a shoot we had in the afternoon. When that shoot had to be rescheduled due to an emergency, we were going to have a huge hole in our afternoon in Fort Worth. I posted about the opening for a last-minute session (just 15 hours notice), I knew it was unlikely that anyone would be able to take off work on the fly.

Well, I was wrong. We booked it. The people who signed up for the spot have been long time fans of McGowan Images, and have been trying to schedule a session with us for AGES. They’ve never had pictures like this taken before… in fact, nothing other than your standard Olan Mills type portraits done since their wedding 26 years ago!

These people are really awesome. Like, whoa. So supportive and kind and inspirational, not to mention pretty dadgum good-looking. In fact, we couldn’t do what we do without them. No way, no how.

You’ve probably guessed by now… on Thursday afternoon, we filled the hole in our afternoon by shooting a mini-session of my amazing parents, Loree & Roger Behymer!

My Mama & Daddy are such an inspiration to Mack and I. They are pretty crazy in love with each other after all these years, and still prioritize date nights and weekend getaways. My whole life, I’ve known that my parents were in it for the long haul, and while I’ve never thought their relationship was perfect, I’ve always known it was solid. We feel really blessed to be able to call them parents and friends.
