Mack and I met Jon and Anna a little over a year ago, when they modeled for a style shoot for us. (Laundry Day… one of my faves.) At the time, they were just dating, and Anna was brunette. MY, how times have changed!
This fall, Mack and I will be accompanying Jon & Anna on a wonderful adventure to Vancouver, British Columbia for their sure-to-be-incredible wedding, and every time I think about it, I just giggle. TOO HAPPY. This couple is so much fun, and their love for each other just bounces off of them and ricochets around the room. They’re a joy to shoot, and wonderful people to know.
And now, having shot their engagement session, I’m almost a little nervous… I mean, how will we top this gorgeousness for their wedding?!?!?

I don’t know how I could ever get tired of shooting around Rockledge Park. It can feel so warm and beachy (which you’ll see in a minute), but we also find little pockets of forest like in the shots below that give us such delicious variety!

At the end of the session, “I’m gonna put you in the water, ok?” I love clients who are full of YES! 🙂

These turned out gorgeous. You guys have definitely hit a whole new level of e-pic gorgeousness! The light is yummy, the color are beautiful, the people are too darn pretty, and Meg’s styling is dead on. Great job all around!

I knew to expect great things when I saw the sneak peeks on facebook yesterday afternoon, but these have exceeded all of my expectations by far. I’m blown away by how the two of you can take a place that is naturally beautiful and make it look completely magical. Your talent knows no bounds 🙂 Thank you times a million for giving us the most perfect engagement pictures we could have imagined. It was such a sweet moment as we looked at each photo together over coffee this morning, commenting on the shots that radiated our love, and laughing at how my “serious face” could still use some work 😉 We truly adore these images and will treasure them forever.
I’m blessed to know you people, and am so excited to have you with us in Vancouver I can hardly stand it! THANK YOU!!!

I had to wait to get to work to make a comment on this post. Looking at these images for the third time, I am still truly, truly in awe. Yes, it doesn’t hurt to have gorgeous subjects, well-planned outfits, a lovely location, or even “good light.” But those things don’t really matter much if you don’t know what to DO with them. Chelsea and Mack… my dear, dear friends… you have mastered the art of “what to do” with your clients. How to coach them into the best poses, how to nudge emotional responses, when to say something, and when to let a moment happen. I am so proud of the two of you, having seen your growth over the last two and half years (and no, I am NOT crying right now!). I have been in front of your cameras, and also behind them, and there is no one more deserving of the praise you receive, or the opportunities that present themselves to you. You have *worked* for this, put in the time, developed your talents, and mastered your craft. I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for you because, my friends, it only gets better from here!
Anna & Jon – a million thanks for letting me contribute, even in the smallest way, to this session. The two of you have a deep, magical sort of love for each other, and it so evident in these images. Eric and I are proud to know you, and are so excited about our Canadian adventure this Fall!

Can I have a new favorite e-session this soon after being blown away not more than a week ago? Y’all need to slow down on the awesomeness. 😉 (kidding) Seriously though – this is HOTT! And I’m loving the location. Jon & Anna – oh. my. wow. Y’all are easy on the eyes. 😉 Even more importantly, you are truly in love with each other. I can tell, even though we’ve never met. I can’t pick a favorite this time, because I love them all. Alright, I’ll pick 3 – the B&W after you start the water shots; the wicked awesome shot by Mack on the beach that you used for a sneak; and the very last shot. Chelsea & Mack – I’m gonna echo Liesa. I must sound like a broken record. I always have such high praise for you. I don’t know how to say this any more powerfully, but you are the best. It’s not merely the image quality that matters, although that is obviously important. You really did book-end your week in perfection. These pictures capture the kind of love that you read about 🙂 There is no way I could pick a favorite out of these… I imagine that the “Best of 2012” contest is going to be a serious killer with even just the shots from the last week! I generally lean toward all the bright, colorful, AMAZING shots, but I think with this session I am more drawn toward the emotion in the B&W ones. Except the last ones and the one that Mack shot for the sneak peek. I also love the gauzy, filtered light ones of them in the forest. What do you get when you combine Beautiful models, perfect wardrobe, romantic surroundings and the best photographers in the biz??? THIS SHOOT!
