Leslie & Garrett : Wedding Pt. 1

Leslie & Garrett were married last weekend in Leslie’s home church, St. Joseph’s in College Station. The day was bright and sunshiney, and not near as hot as anticipated… which is always a good thing.  This bride had one of the best groups of bridesmaids we’ve ever seen! Every single one was on her a-game, with a happy face, ready to help make this the best day of Leslie’s life. I certainly think they succeeded.

Today, I’m sharing some images we captured while Leslie was getting ready, as well as their beautiful church ceremony and the minutes immediately after. You’ll have to come back tomorrow to see all their scrumptious portraits and beautiful reception details… but hey, weren’t you going to come back anyway? 😉

As you may have seen if you follow McGowan Images on Facebook, Mack and I got a new toy last week. The 20 mm lens performed beautifully for these epic shots of St. Josephs’s Church.

I just love these signs. And carrying these is WAY safer than having a young man carry the actual rings. 🙂

Man & Wife!

Immediately after family pictures at the altar, Garrett & Leslie and their wedding party jumped in cars and hauled tail to get to the location they’d chosen for wedding party and Bride&Groom portraits. Along the way, the newlyweds stopped at their hotel to drop off their truck, and across the road, I saw this fence. I dragged them out of the car for 2.5 minutes… I think it was completely worth it. 🙂

Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Martinek! Come back tomorrow, and we’ll reward you with lots more prettiness!

THe b&w shot of Leslie look out into the congregation during the ceremony is beautiful – what a moment.

  2. Julie says:

Was the fence shot in Downtown Bryan? If so, it’s really nice what they’ve done there. Hopefully, it takes off!

Such beautiful pictures of one of my favorite places! Can’t wait to see the rest tomorrow!

  3. Liesa says:

I agree, the above the congregation shot is really neat. I especially love the ceremony shot of her hand on his cheek, it’s precious! And as far as precious goes, the second five minute rule shot is sweet. Congrats to the newlyweds!

  4. Nicole says:

Can’t wait to see their portraits! The fence stop was totally worth it!

  5. Abby says:

I also love the one of Leslie looking out into the congregation, and the one right after that with her hand on Garrett’s face. Can’t wait to see more!

  6. Mike says:

I SO agree with the folks above. I also love the overhead/balcony shot of Leslie & her father entering the ceremony! Very Sound of Music like…with a McG twist.
