Jon & Anna : Vancouver Wedding Pt. 1

The morning of Jon & Anna’s wedding in Vancouver, B.C. dawned clear and bright and… wait. WHAT?!?!? A wedding the last weekend of October in VANCOUVER was clear and bright? Yeah, that’s right, people. There was 100% chance of rain every day for a two week stretch, but on the morning of Anna & Jon’s wedding, the sun came out and it was around 60 degrees. Seriously the most gorgeous day I’ve ever seen in the Pacific Northwest. Anna cried happy tears when she realized it wasn’t going to rain, and they’d be able to get married on the beach like they dreamed. And as the bride got ready, the door was open to the balcony, letting that fresh open air in, and a man walked down the street below and sang an Italian aria at the top of his lungs. Really. That happened. The entire day was MAGIC.

… and when the butterflies threatened to overwhelm her, Anna cleared the room and turned off the music and just BREATHED. She was so excited to see the love of her life, she needed just a minute to be alone, touch up her makeup, and find her center again.

When you’re getting married in the Pacific Northwest, rain boots with your wedding dress are a must!

Thanks to megBdesign for the beautiful bouquet & boutonniere for this destination wedding. I love traveling with talented people. 🙂

Anna & Jon planned to see each other for the first time in Stanley Park, in an area we found with a great view of the skyline. But we couldn’t pass up the opportunity presented by side-by-side hotel rooms! Luckily, the bride & groom never once saw each other during the creation of this portrait, which ended up being one of my favorites of the whole weekend.

Everywhere we went on Sunday, Jon & Anna drew quite the crowd. I got a kick out of all the strangers stopping to photograph this moment on their iPhones…

Vancouver is such a stunning city… we were so lucky to have a clear view of downtown on this partly sunny, fogless day!

Ooooh, these trees! I’m gonna need regularly scheduled sessions in forests like this, ok? Just putting my order in now.

AH! Favorite! 🙂

It’s hard to believe that we’re done with a blog full of gorgeousness, and we haven’t even STARTED with the ceremony yet. Come back tomorrow morning to see our favorite moments from when Jon & Anna officially became Man & Wife, and the splendid celebration that followed!

These are why I was so excited for this wedding to happen, new favorites ever! I can’t even begin to say how stunning these are! There really aren’t words, and how can two people be that pretty?! McG outstanding job I could not pick a favorite because I really just pick them all 🙂

  2. Kendall says:

Stop it. Too much prettiness for this early in the morning! Anna and Jon, you look ABSOLUTELY gorgeous. Like straight out of a magazine perfection. Meagan, the flowers and bouts? To die for. And lastly, Chelsea and Mack, you took this one to a whole new level of jaw dropping. The fall colored forest grouping are by far my favorites. Ugh, jealousy factor 100%.

I’ve already looked at this post twice, and I still don’t know what to say about it. There’s just TOO much – too much pretty, too much love, too much perfect scenery – two people I’m TOO proud of. Eric and I are so grateful to have been a part of this trip, and some of the details of the day. Can’t wait to see more tomorrow!
