Favorite Details of 2012

We’re more than halfway through the week, kids! I’m never able to actually pick a favorite in the “Best of 2012” contest, but it’s fun to watch the leaderboard change throughout the week. Don’t forget to spread the word on Facebook and such if you’re in the running… last year it came down to just a handful of votes!

Today, we’re sharing our favorite detail images from last year, and boy, are there a TON! We just kept finding it impossible to narrow down, so ya know, we didn’t. This is a huge blog post. Good luck picking your favorite… but hey, a $25 Amazon gift card makes it worth it to try, right? 😉

We’ll start with some of our favorite ring shots… there were some really fun ones this year!!

And oh man, we photographed some beautiful dresses this year, too!

I never get tired of finding a fun way to photograph a bride’s shoes. Never ever ever.

We have such huge respect for wedding designers & florists. The good ones are worth DOUBLE their weight in gold, and can take an event from the expected to the WOW.

Nom nom nom caaaaaaake.

Holy gorgeousness, Batman! Thank you all SO much for letting us capture the beautiful little parts of your wedding day. We know our brides & grooms work hard and invest to make sure the tiniest details of their wedding are lovely, and we make it a priority to see that all those details are captured forever!

Tomorrow is Friday, and we’ll be sharing our FAVORITE installment of the “favorites” blog posts. Yep, that’s two-times the favoriteness. Get excited. 🙂

  1. Kedall says:

I am still in love with those goofy/geeky cufflinks 🙂 Out of these, though, my favorites are the letters in the reflecting pool, that ridiculously gorgeous flower ring, and the book pages being blown. so pretty

  2. Geanna Chisholm says:

Rings – #17 on the peanuts..super cute idea! Dresses – LOVE the one with the fountain in the backgroud..catching it at just the right time where the water is falling perfectly. Shoes – The red ones on the car..awesome. Flowers – with the ballroom in the background..beautiful! Cake – Picture #1..so pretty! And it can’t get any better than that (Aruba, I think) Oh. My. Goodness!

  3. Monica F. says:

The red shoes on the balcony was my fav, but OMG I would have been so terrified if they had fallen!

  4. Kylie says:

Another though one, but I think my favorite is the cake picture from the ranch in Stephenville, I forget the name. I love the rustic look of it, and of course the burlap!

  5. MaryAnn says:

You know which ones I love: that ivory dress, those black and ivory shoes and that purple jewelry (particularly since I know how much we paid for that purple jewelry and shoes! haha). And of course, I love Beallara’s L & R design in that reflecting pool!

  6. Liesa says:

Still love my shoes of the shoe shot, but being unbiased I also love the rings on the red leaf, and the dress hung from the chandelier. 🙂 Love all these details!

This was tough, considering my personal ties to a few of these lovely events. Here are my favorites: shoes on the bathtub, butterfly on Jordyn’s dress, the cake table at The N (!!), the vintage military cake topper, Jon & Anna’s rings on the maple leaf, and the rings in the alligator head. Ugh, SO. MUCH. PRETTY!

  23. Kathy says:

I’m going to say the butterfly on the backside, just because it was totally unscripted. The planned ones are all so gorgeous!

We LOVE the cake at the N! You knew we would be a little biased! But there are some great shots here! Y’all are amazing!

Love the emerald and flower rings and the baseball and leather looking men’s bands. I also love the shots of the cowgirl boots, engraved flask and the cake with orange lovebirds. I have quite a few. I love the rings with the sun shining through, the fabric bouquet (I am a little partial to that whole wedding but its still gorgeous), the cake (and the whole table plus background) at the ranch. I have to say my absolute favorite though is the butterfly on the dress.

I can’t pick just one. I love the emerald ring…the dress with the fountain…love the stained glass/shoes but also love mine…also love my fabric bouquet because of the history…butterfly on the dress (oh how I wish that butterfly would have cooperated at Bobbileighs wedding!!)…flowers in the jars hanging from trees.

Woodsy Cake at the N Ranch and
    Butterfly on the dress.
