I find a great deal of nerdy joy in the way happy things line up sometimes. We met Sophie what seems like forever ago… she’s the little sister of an 2012 bride, Hannah. We just adore this whole family, so when Sophie started hinting at her sister’s bridal session that her own big day wouldn’t be far behind, we crossed all our fingers & toes.

Sure enough, during Hannah & Eric’s October wedding, Matt introduced himself and asked for a business card, and said we’d be hearing from them soon. See, even though this couple isn’t getting married ’til February 1st, 2014, they have a small window in which to plan and do the fun things like engagement portraits. Matt is a pitcher for the Washington Nationals, and this MLB pro has to report to spring training soon. We’re so glad we were able to help them celebrate the fun of being engaged, and we know when we see them again in a year, it’ll be even MORE fun! 🙂

We’re so excited to share with you the first McG session of 2013… enjoy!

We were originally supposed to shoot this session early last week, but the weather was just too cold & nasty. I’m SO glad we rescheduled because the day we photographed this couple was the prettiest day of the year so far!! And as an added bonus, the future Mrs. Purke got her new jersey in the mail, so they were able to add this nod to Matt’s career into their session. 🙂

Wasn’t that just perfect? After a month of not shooting anything but our own lives, we felt a bit rusty, but I’m in LOVE with the images. This makes me even more excited for the adventurous shoot we have coming up at the end of this week. 🙂 But I shouldn’t get ahead of myself, there’s lots of pretty blog posts between now and then!
