The McG Studio at Bowen

Drumroll, please!!!

We’re finally introducing the McG Studio at Bowen!

We’re so excited to at long last give an online glimpse into this property we’ve been working on for what seems like forever. Last fall, we had the spectacular opportunity to partner with other photographers and lease this gorgeous little studio at 3825 S. Bowen, and we JUMPED on it. The months since then have been a blur of art picking and product ordering and furniture renovating… ya know, in addition to shooting and editing and traveling and BEING PARENTS. But yes, yes, we’re going to show you now. ๐Ÿ™‚

I would be remiss if I didn’t give a HUGE shout out to our fantabulous designer Meg, of megBdesign, who sourced the dresser, coffee table, chairs & coat tree for us. She’s been working so hard to make sure this place looked spectacular for us, and we couldn’t have done it without her!

It wouldn’t surprise me to hear that some of you have thought, “Jeez, they got this place in October and they’re JUST NOW getting it finished so they can blog about it?” But Ha Ha! Joke’s on you… because it’s actually not entirely finished yet anyway. ๐Ÿ˜‰ I just couldn’t wait any longer to crow about it.

We’ve got Meg on the hunt for an area rug and a little coffee bar, and we plan to fully outfit the “changing room” downstairs into a proper glam staging area. We plan to get another canvas cluster of engagement images decorate the wall above the staircase. Here and there, we’ll continue to add to what makes this place so special. The wood floors, the faux fireplace, the chandelier… it’s exactly what we’ve been looking for the last couple years!

Actually, what first attracted us to this property is the 20-acres of gorgeousness you don’t see represented in this blog post at all. It’s beautiful right now, don’t get me wrong (we’ve used it for these two recent shoots, and another you’ll see later this week) but it’ll come into it’s full glory later in the spring, so we’ll do a blog post about the rest of Bowen in a month or two.

No more yammering, though… here’s the inside!!

These acrylic block pieces just make my eyeballs happy!

EEEK! A hand-drawn fire! Meg, thanks for making my ideas pretty in-real-life. ๐Ÿ™‚

Mostly, we’re just thrilled to finally have a HOME in the metroplex. Meeting in Starbucks for the past four years has been good to us… we’ve never had anyone complain. But we wanted a place where we wouldn’t feel rushed, where we wouldn’t have a poach a table. We wanted to be able to have the McG experience start as soon as a new client sits down to talk to us. This place, this house on 20 acres at 3825 S Bowen, is McG’s haven in the hub-bub of the huge sprawling DFW area. We’re so proud!!
