Mack Commandeers the Blog: Fall Foliage Edition

Texas is bipolar. Everybody knows this. In the last couple of weeks, we’ve had highs in the upper 80’s and lows in the 20’s. But one thing Texas did this  year that I REALLY dug was produce some KILLER fall foliage! I’ve lived in Texas for the vast majority of my life, and 11 of the last 13 years in this area, and I’ve never seen autumn trees like this! Last week, before the freeze and the bad weather, I went on a bit of a photo safari and grabbed some images of the beauty that I’ve been surrounded by this fall.

This last shot is a 27-image panorama which came out to over 12 feet wide at 300dpi… It’s impossible to show it off on the blog, but you can get an idea of the detail in this image from the crop shown above it. I’m in LOVE with this valley!

I hope you all were able to get out and enjoy the world around you this fall– it was brief, but beautiful! Be sure to come back tomorrow after the tryptophan coma has worn off and the Black Friday sales are depleted to check out Nikki & Forrest’s “Morning After” session!

    Loving those fall colors!

  2. Sarah says:

Stunning fall colors! Definitely a special Texas treat this year.

  3. Dawn says:

Fantastic shots, Mack! I have to admit that spending last fall in the northeast (read: damnyankeeland), I was a bit spoiled by the foliage there. Looks like Texas finally brought its A-game this year and did not disappoint! Glad you were able to capture the great colors we got this year!

  4. Misty says:

Wooooooooooooow!!! Erath County, especially the northern half (and surrounding counties), can be so beautiful — there really was some great color up there this year! Thank you for capturing it so well (as always), I love this so much!
