McG Mini Sessions : Fall 2013, Pt. 2

It’s bad business to pick favorites, but I’m just gonna say it… I think this past Sunday’s mini session marathon was the best family session event we’ve EVER had. We worked with 17 gorgeous families, had gorgeous light all day, and beautiful fall foliage at the McG Studio in Arlington. It was a long day and we crashed HARD when we finished shooting, but it was so COMPLETELY rewarding. We love getting to see so many smiling faces, and play with so many happy kiddos… these kind of days make our twice-yearly family session marathons TOTALLY worth the tired! 🙂

If you didn’t see “Part 1” of the Fall Family Mini Sessions we shot back in October (our Overflow day, since the first day booked up in just a few hours!), you can click HERE to see that blog post.

Today, we’ll be sharing our favorite images from the first 9 mini sessions we shot on Sunday, and we’ll share the other 8 sessions tomorrow. 🙂 We’re trying really hard to keep to just sharing 3-4 images from each session, and it’s REALLY hard because we love so many of them!!

Enjoy!

Blogstalkers will definitely recognize this family. 🙂 We shot Pam & Mike’s gorgeous wedding in Aruba last year, as well as their precious son Brandon’s newborn AND Sock Monkey-themed first birthday photos! He’s such a happy little guy, and warmed up to us really quickly this time around!

We photographed Greg & Nikki’s wedding in 2011, and now they’re expecting a little girl! Time flies, doesn’t it??

Caty & Justin brought their nugget Kinleigh out to play, and we were SO glad to see them. This is just the coolest family, and we’re honored to call them friends. Plus, Miss K was such a smiley little thing for their session!

We’re going to see Katie & James again in a couple weeks, when we shoot Katie’s best friends’ wedding! We love all the little connections that happen through this business of ours, especially the ones that allow us to meet such fantastic couples. 🙂

Danielle & Aaron brought handsome little Rye out to play with us, and while he was a skeptical dude at first, he warmed up once he got to play with leaves!!

Kathleen & Michael were a 2012 McG couple, back for holiday pictures. It’s always such an honor when our clients come back over & over.

We were so extra-special excited to see this family! Hilary was one of my very best friends in high school, and we’ve since photographed engagement, wedding, maternity, & newborn portraits for her sweet family. I can’t believe how big Asher is getting… Cody & Hilly, you’re such wonderful parents!!

Oh, and the best part?? These pictures were partly to celebrate the impending addition of a NEW baby Moore! 🙂 YAY!

Brittani had a family connection when she booked her family session… we photographed her brother’s sister-in-law’s wedding in 2009. Once we drew the map, it was REALLY fun to see how the word has spread, and McG is now a family affair!!

Tripp was the happiest when playing with his mommy. 🙂

Josh & Lexi’s son Collin looked so cute in his dapper little vest. It was so clear, even just in 20 minutes, that this is one of those families that loves REALLY hard… so much fun to photograph.

So much pretty already, and people… that’s only HALF! 🙂 Be sure to come back tomorrow to see the second half of the day’s celebration sessions!

Gah! So much pretty!! Thank you so much! I can’t wait to see the others!! I’m showing them off to everybody I know and everyone wants to know about the talented photographers! I’m passing y’all’s names around! Can I post on FB? Is that allowed? Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

  5. Kerri says:

Chelsea you will always and forever be my favoritest photographer ever 🙂 Seeing two of my favorite families looking absolutely beautiful made this post extra special ♥

  6. Hilary says:

Chels! Thank you so much! We absolutely adore them… You’ve outdone yourselves again!! I want you to know that I love and support you because you are my friend, but that’s not why we keep choosing you to document our special moments… We choose you and Mack bc you are so talented and always deliver stunning results. You capture love and happiness and allow me to see myself the way my husband and son see me, as beautiful. It’s nice to have that confidence boost 🙂 Thanks again! Love you!

  7. Pam R. says:

So many beautiful families and gorgeous couples! Chelsea and Mack… I love you guys! you are the best! I can’t wait to see the rest tomorrow!

While I sure am a sucker for gorgeous afternoon light, holy moly! The absolutely gorgeous sunlight in all of these pictures was freaking amazeballs! I know it was hot, but for this kind of prettiness? So. Wort. It. 6:00am tomorrow can’t come fast enough!

  9. Leslie Lukens Martin says:

It’s so fun to see so many different families…and how you were able to give each of them very unique photos all in the same setting. Impressive, McG….as always! 🙂
