I knew Cara from the time I was 7 ’til the time I was 13. Back then, it’s not like we had Facebook to stay in touch when someone moved away… you either wrote letters and talked on the phone, or you just naturally drifted apart. I lost track of Cara eventually, and had no idea what her life had become until she found me on Facebook a couple years ago. And then we just did that thing… ya know, “that thing”? Where you know someone in real life, sorta, and you like the funny stuff they post, and comment on their new profile photo when they’re having a great hair day… that thing.
But then, Cara got engaged, and I got a call, and I was all of a sudden sitting at the ranch where her family lives just 5 minutes from my house, sharing a glass of wine and talking about weddings.
Life is funny, isn’t it?
Cara is even more gorgeous now than she was when we were kids, and Justin is absolutely perfect for her. It was so clear seeing their family & friends interact that everyone can see these two were meant for each other. Joanna at The N at Hardway Ranch always does an amazing job for our couples, and she didn’t drop the ball here. The day ran as smoothly as I’ve ever seen a wedding run, and it was a joy to shoot from start to finish.
I’m not even going to apologize anymore… y’all know I’m terrible at narrowing down photos for a blog post. So just expect when you come here that you’ll have to buckle in. At least it’s pretty! 🙂
This First Sight was so sweet… both Bride & Groom were so excited to see one another!
Have we mentioned lately that we really love this venue? I fall in love with it a little more every time we shoot here… it’s just pretty year round!
And a kiss seals the deal! #Glovebirds !!
Apparently the tie Justin wore for the wedding just didn’t meet the approval of his groomsmen. But no worries, they brought him a Broncos tie that got everyone in the party spirit!
I shared one of these on Facebook last week because it seriously cracked us up… the Bride & Groom played a game of flip cup during the reception! It was a really close battle and both teams put up a helluva fight, but ultimately, Team Bride reigned supreme.
Cara sweetheart, I’m so glad you found me. Thankful for Facebook and for how fun it’s been to photograph you & Justin. Make sure there’s a cocktail waiting on us next time we come to Denver! 🙂
