It’s finally time to start showing off Chris & Halley’s wedding collection! Well… almost time. Close. I’m almost done. So today, we’ll just talk about her bridals.

We shot these portraits back in the early fall at the Fort Worth Zoo. Halley practically grew up there, and has awesome memories of her mom bringing home animals that needed to be on medical watch. Apparently, there was Thanksgiving with a gazelle, at one point. Basically coolest childhood ever.

We’re hardcore zoo fans, and we always have season passes, but it was extra fun to get to walk around it with someone who loves it in a whole different way.

Of course, the FW Zoo isn’t really set up for you to take photos WITH animals… and that’s probably good, for public safety and all. But the campus is still insanely gorgeous, including the Museum of Living Art, which is one of our favorite spots in the zoo.

While shooting Halley in the post above, I realized that the elephant had gotten pretty close to the window. So is this next shot a classically beautiful bridal portrait? No. Is it Halley in her wedding dress & veil genuinely giggling with excitement over the elephant swimming toward her? YES. Not pictured, me crying. No judgement. I do that, with elephants.
