Two years ago yesterday, we got up, got Jack off to school, and then you left for work. And for the first time, I didn’t. I stayed home and worked. I texted you every 20 minutes saying I was crazy for having quit my “Big Girl” job, and that I could certainly call my editor and get my desk in the newsroom back. You told me to stop texting and get to work, because there was a lot to be done.

We didn’t know it then, but about a year later, we’d wake up and walk to the office together, and you’d tell me we were crazy for walking away from your “Grown Up” job and thinking McGowan Images could support a family of four. I told you to stop worrying and get to work, because there was a lot to be done.

We did it. Against all odds and prophecy, we did it. And if bookings for 2012 are any indication, we’re going to keep doing it. Because you were brave enough to dream with me, and brave enough to jump out on faith when God called us to.

Two years ago, I went to work in my pajamas for the first time, and with you at my side, I’ve never looked back.

Let’s keep doing this, ok? I like this. And there’s a lot to be done.
