Every year, we say we’re going to do a better job of capturing “behind the scenes” pictures. And every year, we do about the same. We sort of remember, sometimes. Maybe we should just have an assistant come to a wedding sometime and photograph what it’s like for us to shoot? It’s a thought. 😉
In honor of the fun new “behind the scenes” shots we managed to snag of each other during last week’s Dominican Republic wedding, we thought we’d share a few of our favorites from the first “half” of the year. With 15 more weddings still to come in 2013, we’ll have plenty more to share at the end of the year!
The image above was taken by the sister of the bride at a spring wedding in the Hill Country… see how happy & smiley & NORMAL we managed to look! Now, why can’t we seem to do that when we’re light testing for each other??
I’m particularly bad at cheesing when Mack points a camera at me… this is me walking Carmen across the road in downtown Dallas for her First Sight.
But oh man, I look way better when I cheese than when I’m demonstrating a dramatic bridal pose. Note to self… leave the drama to the girls in gowns! 🙂
My pictures of Mack tend to more often be of him, ya know, actually working. Need a bride carried around during bridal portraits? No big deal for this stud.
Occasionally he gets pictures of me working as well, but of course, I only post them if my butt doesn’t look huge. BLOGGER’S PREROGATIVE! 🙂
I mean, I’ll allow the big butt images through, I guess, if it shows me laying down on the job. Real life, people.
Mack does his fair share of cheesing as a light tester… this shot is one of my favorites of him, EVER.
I tell Mack, “Hey, look out that window behind you, the light is good” and he gets a studly new headshot.
Mack tells ME, “Hey, sit up a little straighter, I’m shooting back here”, and I get this proof of epic-ness in the making. 🙂
And finally, a couple “behind the scenes” images from last week’s trip to the Dominican. When you’re working on a tropical paradise, it hardly feels like work!
Mack tends to shoot standing behind me, which is why he’s in place to get all sorts of “Chelsea in the act of shooting” behind the scenes images. And, ya know, some “Chelsea getting a bride from place to place” images…
Whereas I get to take pictures of Mack doing all sorts of fun things, like being on sweat-blotting duty…
and rinsing sand off the bride’s feet!
And our 20 mm lens is always great for the occasional “on the job” selfie!
And actually, we’re not done sharing Dominican pictures! We made some “vacation friends” at our resort, and did a little 15 minute portrait session of them one night before dinner, and they turned out so beautifully we just couldn’t help but blog them. Those will be up on Friday! 🙂
